Barry Remnants May Trigger Strong Storms, Then Dangerous Heat
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Long Island.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island as the remnants of now post-tropical storm cyclone Barry make their way east.
"There is a chance of flash flooding with showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday through early Thursday," the NWS says.
Expect heavy downpours and potentially strong to severe wind gusts in any storms that develop.

The highest chance of thunderstorms on the island will be from about 3-11 p.m. Wednesday, according to the hour-by-hour forecast.
Dangerous heat then looms for the coming weekend with temperatures in the mid-90s and the heat index potentially hitting 110 degrees.

The full forecast:
Wednesday- A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
Wednesday Night- A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday- Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 76. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday Night- A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Northeast wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 90.
Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 75.
Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 95.
Saturday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 77.
Sunday- Sunny, with a high near 95.
Sunday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75.
