NORTHPORT, NY — Crab Meadow Golf Course is slated to be renamed following the Huntington Town Board's vote on Dec. 15.

The Northport golf course will be dedicated to former Huntington Town Supervisor Robert J. Flynn, according to a news release. Flynn established the first municipal parks system in Suffolk County, which paved the way for the creation of Crab Meadow Golf Course. His other notable accomplishments include the adoption of the first master plan of any township in New York state and the adoption of the town's first Ethics Code, according to the release.

The course does not have its official new name yet. A ceremony will be held once the new signage is installed at a later date, according to town spokeswoman Lauren Lembo.
