Here are some of the recent arrests and complaints issued in Northport. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below.
Arrests
A Northport man, 21, was issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana on Fort Salonga Road on March 11.

A Northport man located and arrested on March 13 on charges from a domestic incident occurring on the prior date. He was processed and held for arraignment.

Police responded to a report on March 10 from a woman claiming to have received two “disturbing phone calls.” She said the caller, an unknown male, was alleging to be her grandson and was arrested for DWI in the Dominican Republic. The caller said he needed to be bailed out of jail and asked for assistance. The woman asked the caller a detailed question only her grandson would know, and the caller hung up. The woman said she received a second call and again after she posed a question, the caller hung up. Police told the woman about a trace procedure accessible by dialing *57, and advised her to contact the Verizon Unlawful Call Center to follow up. No further police action was necessary.
Police responded to a call on Norwood Avenue on March 10 after receiving a report of a possible gunshot. Upon arrival, police found the area to be quiet with no one in need of assistance.
Police responded to call about a man sleeping in a vehicle in a parking lot on March 10 on Fort Salonga Road. Police found the man, and advised him that he was no longer welcome to utilize the parking lot. The man left the area without incident.
Police responded to a call from Sea Cove Road on March 13 for the report of a deer impaled on a fence. Determining that the deer was deceased, police and removed the animal from fence. Highway department responded and properly disposed of the deer.
Police responded to a report of a group of youth yelling on Main Street on March 14. Police determined the group was a Cub Scout troop running a bake sale at a church. No violations of village code were observed or alleged.
Police responded to a report of a possible breakin on Scudder Avenue on March 14, at 4:14 a.m. Police arrived to find a “highly intoxicated” woman who was having “extreme difficulty gaining access to her apartment.” Police assisted her in getting into her home. No further was action necessary.
