Crime Report: Driving While Impaired by Drugs, Man Reportedly Tries to Enter Woman's Home

Here are some of the recent arrests and complaints issued in Northport. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below.
Arrests
Thomas Butcher, 23, of Setauket was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs on Fort Salonga Road March 17 at 11:40 p.m.
Ryan Dunne, 24, of Northport, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on Fort Salonga Road on March 19 at 2:07 a.m.

Complaints
Police responded to a report on Clipper Drive on March 19 at about an anonymous complaint of vehicles behind the concession stand at Steer’s Park. Upon arrival, police interviewed two people who said they were associated with the Little League club and were getting ready for opening season over the weekend.

Police responded to a report on Main Street on March 22 at 2:56 a.m. about a suspicious event. Upon arrival police interviewed a woman who said she observed an unknown male trying to open her front door. When the woman’s dog started barking, the man left her property and walked eastbound on Main Street. The woman stated there was no damage to her property and the man did not appear to attempt to forcefully gain entry to her house. Police canvassed the area but did not find the suspect.
Police responded to a report on Maple Avenue about an unknown male at the front door on March 22 at 3:52 a.m. Upon arrival, police interviewed the intoxicated man who stated he was looking for a friend. He was escorted home without incident.
