
CENTERPORT, NY — A driver was injured when two cars collided in Centerport on Tuesday morning, according to Steve Silverman, public information officer of Centerport Fire Department.
The crash was reported on East Main Street near Lakeside Drive at 9:08 a.m., prompting a response from the fire department and Suffolk police. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries and was brought to Huntington Hospital by the Centerport Fire Department Rescue Squad, according to Silverman.
Centerport firefighters and rescue personnel were dispatched with an ambulance, heavy rescue truck and paramedic unit, under the direction of First Assistant Chief Kyle McLaughlin.
