East Northport Middle Schooler Wants Restaurant To Say 'Styro-No'

He wrote a letter to the business suggesting more environmentally alternatives to styrofoam cups.

East Northport Middle Schooler Daniel Arthur recently attempted to make his voice heard by writing a letter to a local fast food restaurant about their Styrofoam usage.

Daniel, who has grown up in an environmentally-conscious home, wrote his letter to the local branch in his community. He explained how much he loves the restaurant, but how upsetting it is that non-compostable Styrofoam cups are used.

He offered alternatives to Styrofoam, such as paper, which he made sure to highlight can break down in 2-5 months, and encouraging customers to bring in their own cups. Daniel hopes to receive a response, and to possibly jump-start a change.

“I hope I can encourage them to consider changing,” said Daniel. “If kids my age start speaking up about this, eventually businesses have to listen!”
