Elwood Road Section To Be Closed Thursday
Part of Elwood Road will be closed Thursday, Aug. 22 due to tree removal work.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — The section of Elwood Road between Bellerose Avenue and Dickinson Avenue in East Northport will be closed to traffic between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, the Town of Huntington announced Wednesday.
The Huntington Highway Department will be removing hazardous trees and snapped limbs caused by the June 30 windstorm.
"Thank you for your patience while we perform this necessary maintenance work on our storm damaged trees," stated Highway Superintendent Kevin S. Orelli. "The Highway Department will close the roadway off to thru-traffic, but will open the roadway for first responders and local law enforcement."
