Elwood Senior Chosen For International Science & Engineering Fair

ELWOOD, NY — Rithika Narayan, a senior at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School, was recently selected as one of only 1,800 in the country to participate in the International Science and Engineering Fair, the school district announced.

This is Rithika's second year being selected, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year’s competition was canceled. This year, it will be held virtually to accommodate social distancing and other health and safety protocols.

Rithika competed in the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair this year with her project, "Machine Learning on Crowd-Sourced Data to Highlight Coral Disease." Through that regional competition, she was selected to compete virtually in ISEF 2021 in May.
