The events will serve as a way to connect with local art and artists, including Firefly John Lazzaro, a documentary photographer who captures the haunting, provocative beauty of abandoned spaces. He is author of "The Walls Still Talk," which focuses on the Kings Park Psychiatric Center, and will be on hand offering a sneak preview of his upcoming book signing and presentation at Book Revue.
The Northport Chamber is also running a shop-local opportunity, where every $25 spent on Main Street qualifies for a chance to win Main Street raffle prizes.

"Northport is a wonderful community, and it is a privilege to get to work with so many
wonderful local artists and other businesses right here on Main Street," said Katheryn Laible, a
Firefly Artist who recently became one of the group’s Managing Partners, via press release. "So
many of our Fireflies have dedicated tremendous energy to creating this wonderful new space.
We’re really excited about what’s developing here!"
The Firefly Artists was established in 2011 to create a gallery setting for local artists, where they and those who appreciate them could meet, offer support to one another, and display and sell their creations. The Firefly Artists have displayed a stunning variety of media including oils, acrylics, watercolors, photography, collage, etchings, lithographs, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, sculptures, woodcraft, metalwork, stained glass and en-caustics. In their Main Street galleries and in pop-ups throughout the community, The Firefly Artists have showcased over 150 local artists.
