Guide To Northport Takeout During Coronavirus Shutdowns
Local restaurants are expanding to-go options. Here's where to eat and support local businesses.

NORTHPORT, NY — Last night at 8 p.m. New York State restaurants and bars closed their dining rooms to help slow the spread of coronavirus. But Northport restaurants are offering more delivery and takeout options as they try to stay open during the pandemic. Residents interested in helping support small businesses during the COVID-19 shutdown period can order food at these establishments. Businesses across Long Island are offering expanded delivery; some are organizing curbside pickup and others will bring orders to customers' cars.
Sand City Brewery's tasting room is open for only sales of canned beer and growler refills, with limited occupancy but the brewery is offering delivery to the following zip codes: 11721, 11731, 11740 and 11768. Orders placed after 6 p.m. will be delivered the next day.
Lota Veco, the health food eatery, will stay open for carry-out curbside delivery or free home delivery. The restaurant is offering a family food package with a free $10 gift card toward a future purchase.

Owner Darin Parker echoed the sentiments of many small business and restaurant owners when she posted a message to family and friends on the restaurant's Facebook page:
"Trying not to cry as I wonder how I'm going to keep my employees financially healthy. Operating only takeout is not going to put any money in the bartenders' or servers' bank accounts. I am a big believer in faith and I know somehow we will all get through this. Sending prayers out to everyone who has been affected by this and trying to stay strong."
