Hurricane Delta Remnants To Soak Long Island

The remnants of Hurricane Delta will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Long Island Monday, the National Weather Service says.
More than 2 inches of rain is expected to fall through Tuesday morning. Wind gusts nearing 35 mph are also possible Monday.
Monday looks to be a wet day from start to finish across essentially the entire area, the weather service says. Steady rain will continue through Monday night before tapering off Tuesday morning.

A coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. along the South Shore of Nassau County and western Suffolk County. Minor coastal flooding with up to 1 foot of inundation above ground level is likely in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
