EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Funds were created Tuesday to support the wife and two young children of fallen NYPD officer Anastasios Tsakos. Tsakos, 43, of East Northport, was killed early Tuesday by a woman accused of driving while drunk on the Long Island Expressway, officials said.

A GoFundMe for Tsakos's family has raised roughly $138,000 as of Thursday afternoon.

The "PO Tsakos fund" was launched on Fund the First, a crowdfunding site for first responders and military personnel. More than $58,000 has been raised as of Thursday afternoon. The campaign's current goal is $100,000. It was organized by John Mantas.
