ICYMI: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Diva
Check out this story from earlier in the week on Northport Patch. Diva found herself without a home after her mom and dad died.

NORTHPORT, NY — Diva, a 12-year-old female cat, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
She gets along with other cats, dogs, children and adults, and she loves to be pet. She also enjoys cuddling and spending time with people, as evidenced by the fact she does not like to be alone, Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, wrote in an email. Diva's unwillingness to be alone may have to do with why she was brought to the cat rescue to begin with, Wild said.
"Diva was loved in her previous home so much and lived a wonderful life with her Mom and Dad," Wild said. "Sadly, they both passed away and poor Diva was basically on her own for months, except for daily visits from family members to check on her and make sure she was safe until they were able to find her a new home. This can be incredibly stressful for a cat that thrives so much on companionship, and Diva is clearly this kind of cat. Cats are all too aware of their reality and they experience the loss of a loved one, and the anxiety of what the future will bring, no different than people."
