NORTHPORT, NY — A "Star Wars" foursome is up for adoption at the Northport Cat Rescue Association. The siblings, bonded into two pairs, are five months old.

Admiral Ackbar is bonded with Rey, while Boba and Jango are a pair. They all came from the same litter; rescued as babies, said Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue.

Ackbar is defined as a silly boy who adores his sweet and fearless sister, Rey, according to Wild. Both love their bellies rubbed, as well as human affection. They're a very bonded pair, as are brothers Boba and Jango.

Both pairs were raised in a foster home with other cats and kids and get along with everyone. Once the siblings were ready to leave foster care, they were sent to the cat rescue's habitats in local pet stores where they were being promoted for adoption. However, they're still looking for families. Admiral Ackbar and Rey were even brought to an adoption event in Northport.

"As amazing as they all are, they still wait in a cage, enjoying the visits from our volunteers," Wild said. "When they are able to come out and stretch, they have no resentment; only love and affection and silly antics. Every single person that meets them says they can not believe they are still waiting but continue to hope that they will get the chance to finally be at their forever homes snuggling and safe in time for the holidays."

All the kittens are spayed and neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.

"You know, they say that petting a cat has a positive calming effect; they are simply good for your soul," Wild said. "I have never known a time that calmness is more needed for some. No matter how you prepare for the holidays this year, we hope you will take time to go visit these babies. We know if nothing else, they will make you stop for a moment in the middle of a busy day and just smile."
