ICYMI: Northport HS Lax Coach Named National Coach Of The Year

NORTHPORT, NY — Carol Rainson-Rose, Northport High School varsity lacrosse coach, was selected as one of 23 high school coaches from across the country as a 2019 National Coach of the Year, according the Northport-East Northport School District.

The National Federation of State High School Coaches Association has been recognizing coaches through the awards program since 1982 and selects individuals based on coaching records, affiliation with coaching and other professional organizations, community involvement and coaching philosophy.

Rainson-Rose brought lacrosse to the high school back in 1990 and has been coaching the Tigers for 31 years. Having played the game herself both at the high school and college levels, she said that she wanted to share that passion with others.
