Fewest Number Of Long Island Homes Sold In February Since 2015: MLSLI
The number of available homes on the market on Long Island decreased by nearly 18 percent from February 2016 to February 2017.

February saw the fewest number of homes sold across Long Island since 2015, according to a new report from the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.
The Long Island-wide data, which includes Queens in MLSLI reports, shows the closed median home sale price was $400,000 in February, which is a 3.9 increase over the last year and a 4.75 decrease from January.
The total number of Long Island residential properties on the market in February was 14,671, making the available residential inventory 17.9 percent lower than a year ago. In February 2016, the available residential inventory was at 17,885, MLSLI reports.

In Suffolk, 972 homes were sold in February, the month with the least amounts of homes sold since March and April 2015. Homes sold in February were also a 0.8 percent decrease from February 2016. The median sale for homes sold in Suffolk County went from $314,000 to $330,000, a 4.9 percent increase from February 2016 to February 2017 and a $9,000 decrease from January where the median price for homes sold was $339,000.
Nassau also had the fewest number of homes sold since March and April 2015 with 789 homes sold in February. The median price for homes sold in Nassau in February was $450,000, a 2.3 percent increase from last year and a $25,750 decrease from January where the median price for homes sold was $475,750.

Nassau County
- Highest— August 2016 with 1,510 homes sold
- Lowest— April 2016 with 789 homes sold
Suffolk County
- Highest— August 2016 with 1,809 homes sold
- Lowest— February 2017 with 972 homes sold
Months with the lowest and highest sold property median listing price last year:
Nassau County
- Highest— August 2016 with a $485,000 median listing price
- Lowest— March 2016 with a $430,000 median listing price
Suffolk County
- Highest— August 2016 with a $352,000 median listing price
- Lowest— March 2016 with a $308,000 median listing price
