NORTHPORT, NY — A procession is slated for Northport on Memorial Day, according to the village.

The procession is due to begin at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Legion placing wreaths at monuments. The march will also involve the fire department and bagpipe players. The event would end at the flagpole. The church is at 330 Main St., Northport.

The parade is slated to step off onto Ocean Avenue and Church Street before making a left turn onto Main Street. Prayers will be said at 12 monuments, and a wreath and cross will be laid at each. The procession will head to the foot of Main Street and turn right into the Village Park. It will then assemble around the large flag pole by the harbor front before a Broadway singer comes to sing, and the Northport Pipe and Drum Corp play.
