Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Cash

NORTHPORT, NY — Cash, a 1-and-a-half-year-old male grey and white tabby, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's featured cat of the week.

When Cash was a kitten, he was in a home where no one was able to spend much time with him, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer at the cat rescue. When Cash came to the organization, he was timid and scared. While he is in foster care and still a bit nervous, he is very sweet, Wild said.

"Cash is like a giant bunny," Wild said. "He is round and fluffy with the cutest nose. He loves being petted and when you stop, he rubs his head on your hand begging for more."

When a cat is a kitten, it is much easier for them to find a home, Wild said.

"There truly is nothing as adorable as a tiny little furry kitten," she wrote in an email. "However sometimes, a kitten is just not ready to be adopted out and [they'll] grow up under our care, and as they get bigger, it gets harder for them to find a home. These are the cats that need that special someone or family to give them a chance. The cats like Cash that, although may not be as tiny, have the hugest heart.

"We would love to see Cash with a family that can give him all the love and attention he deserves. He has the potential to be a total lap cat, snuggling with anyone that will give him affection."

Cash is neutered, has all his shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
