NORTHPORT, NY — Helen, Drew and Dylan were named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

The siblings were found in the back of a mechanic shop, with no mother in sight, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. They were frightened, starving and dirty, she said.

"The kind gentleman that works there made sure they were safe until they were in our care," Wild said.

Helen, the only female of the trio, may be the tiniest. However, she is a "little fireball," Wild said. She refuses to miss even a second of playtime and loves to wrestle with her big brothers. She will stare at whoever speaks to her, and she loves to sleep belly up. She will start purring as soon as someone touches her and shows her affection.

Drew is the most loving of the bunch, according to Wild. He is always the first of the three to climb into one's lap and will then fall asleep in their arms. He can be mellow and likes to watch playtime for a bit before pouncing to join in the fun. Drew has white markings that form a ring around his neck and has a tip of white on his tail, which makes him look adorable, Wild said.

Dylan is the big brother, as well as the strongest of the three, Wild said. He's long and sleek. He is the first to explore new places and loves to play with just about anything that he can. He is guaranteed to make people smile as he pushes his tiny feet against people as he plays, Wild said. He will lie down next to a person when he is ready to take a nap. Dylan has a little round face and stripes on his front and back legs, according to Wild.

"All 3 siblings will be ready for adoption in just a few more weeks, and are excitedly waiting for their forever homes, where they will never have to worry about life on the streets again," Wild said.

Once they are ready for adoption, all three cats will be neutered or spayed, be microchipped and have all their shots. They are litter box trained and FELV/FIV negative.
