Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Helen, Drew & Dylan
The three 11-week-old siblings were found in the back of a mechanic shop. Are you interested in adopting any of them?

NORTHPORT, NY — Helen, Drew and Dylan were named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.
The 11-week-old siblings were found in the back of a mechanic shop, with no mother in sight, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. They were frightened, starving and dirty, she said. However, the kittens banded together and took care of one another.
When Helen was a few weeks old, she was so tiny and had the biggest eyes, according to Wild. She made the cat rescue volunteers smile because she looked similar to the alien E.T.

"Now she is blossoming into this beautiful little girl," Wild said. "Although she is still the baby sister of the brothers, she is brave and feisty and will never back down from a good wrestling match. She runs as fast as her brothers, even with her tiny legs. She will stare lovingly into your eyes when spoken too and sleep belly up and purr as soon as she is shown any affection."
She was named Helen by her foster mother, Wild said. Her foster mom was reading a book about Helen Keller, and Keller's strength and determination reminded her of the kitten.

"She is truly a little fireball," Wild said.
Drew is the most loving of the bunch, according to Wild. He is always the first to climb into one's lap and is prone to falling asleep in people's arms. He can be mellow and likes to watch playtime for a bit, but he then pounces to join in the fun.
"He is often found cuddling his little sister, like a protective big brother," Wild said. "If you are looking for a little mush ball, Drew is your guy!"
Dylan, meanwhile, likes to explore new places and loves to play with anything he can find.
"Guaranteed to make you smile, as you watch him push his tiny feet against you when he is playing," Wild said. "He will come and lie down next to you when he is ready to nap. He is beautiful and smart and is the perfect balance between a lovebug and a feisty fun kitten."
All three siblings will be ready for adoption in just a few more weeks, though the cat rescue is fielding adoption applications now. The trio is excitedly waiting for their forever homes, where they will never have to worry about life on the streets again, Wild said.
Once they are ready for adoption, all three cats will be neutered or spayed, be microchipped and have all their shots. They are litter box trained and FELV/FIV negative.
If you are interested in meeting Helen, Drew, and/or Dylan, you can head to the Northport Cat Rescue Association website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet them or any of the other kittens and cats.
