Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Nature
Nature, the mother of four cats named after the four seasons, was found malnourished and clinging to life. Here's how you can adopt her.

NORTHPORT, NY — Nature, a female cat who is roughly 1 year old, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
"This courageous cat wins the mother of the year award," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, told Patch via email.
Nature is the mother of the four kittens featured in the previous week's blurb: Fall, Summer, Spring and Winter.

"Poor, sweet Nature, but a kitten herself, was rescued in the nick of time while nursing her babies," Wild said. "Nature nearly starved to death trying to feed her kittens. When she was found, she was completely malnourished and skinny. She gave her babies everything she had left to protect them and keep them alive. All 4 of her kittens are thriving, and Nature is currently in foster care getting the much-needed love, nourishment, and safety she so deserves."
The rescue does not know more of Nature's origin, but the volunteers believe her whiskers were cut, as they are noticeably short, Wild said.

"She is learning to trust again and is very affectionate on her own terms," she said. "Nature probably never had the opportunity to be a kitten and is enjoying every minute of playtime with her foster Dad. She is very feisty and loves chasing a feather teaser around. She spends time looking out the windows and will sleep on the bed with you. Although not the biggest fan of being picked up yet, she still loves to rub noses and will purr instantly when petted."
Nature has been through a lot and needs a home where people will give her the time and love she needs to settle in and allow herself to be cared for, according to Wild.
"We hope she finds her forever home before Mother’s Day, as Nature represents Moms everywhere, and within every species; no matter how tiny they may be, and what the circumstances, the strength of a mother is like no other," Wild said.
Nature is spayed, has all her shots, is micro-chipped, FELV/FIV negative and litter box trained.
