Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Tommy Boy
Tommy Boy, a 2-year-old longhaired male cat, best belongs in a home where he would be the only pet. Here's how you can adopt him.

NORTHPORT, NY — Tommy Boy, a 2-year-old longhaired male cat, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
"Tommy Boy wandered into a lovely woman’s yard one day and decided he did not like the life of a stray outdoor cat, and basically begged to stay," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, told Patch. "He was so sweet and gentle that she did not have the heart to send him away and welcomed him into the warmth and safety of her home. She soon realized that Tommy Boy does not do well with other pets and is very attention-seeking, so she knew he needed a different home to give him everything he so deserves."
Tommy Boy was eventually brought into the care of the cat rescue.

"This beautiful boy is amazing," Wild said. "He is so smart; he knows commands like sit and lay down for treats. He looks at you with awe as you sing to him. Recently, he caught his reflection in the mirror and was so taken back with how handsome he is, he could not stop staring at himself. He is friendly, playful and loves to be around people. He could be a lap cat, if your lap were big enough, but will settle for a lap to lean into and snuggle."
Tommy Boy is regarded as a gentle giant with long, fluffy hair and an eye that has one pupil that is larger than the other. Wild believes the enlarged pupil may be an injury Tommy Boy suffered while trying to survive on the streets.

"This just adds to his character and makes him even more adorable," she said. "Tommy Boy needs to be your only pet, but he is such a love, we are sure if he could speak, he would say he is all you need!"
Tommy Boy is neutered, has all his shots, is litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
