NORTHPORT, NY — Four cats named after the four seasons are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall are all available for adoption.

"When Momma cat named Nature was rescued, she was still nursing her four babies," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, told Patch. "Mother Nature was just a kitten herself, and they all needed some help. NCRA took them into rescue, and Nature is recuperating with tons of love in foster care, while these 4 adorable kittens about 2 ½ months old are thriving in a loving foster home, all tiny but mighty in their own way."

Winter, a male tabby, is the most confident of the siblings, according to Wild.

"He is lean and long and muscular like an Olympian Feline!" Wild said. "He has the loudest purr and is the first to play but loves to snuggle when playtime is over."

Winter is most often seen with Fall, his brother. Fall is black and white, and he loves to wrestle. He is very affectionate when he settles down, according to Wild.

Summer is a female black and white kitten who is extremely affectionate.

"Always the first to come settle on your lap, and more mellow than the others," Wild said of Summer. "She likes to watch from above because she knows she cannot compete with the wild antics of her brothers."

Summer is very loving towards her sister, Spring, who is the tiniest of the four. However, she is also the most fearless, according to Wild.

"In the beginning all she wanted was to be held," Wild said. "She watched from the safety of her foster moms’ arms, as her siblings played, but now, unaware of her size, she wrestles with them all! She can climb and play and has gotten so strong. It has been amazing to see this little girl’s progression, she has shown strength and courage way beyond her size."

Spring loves to cuddle with her foster mom and especially likes snuggling under the covers of a warm, cozy bed.

All four siblings are awaiting their forever homes.

When adopted, all kittens will be neutered and spayed, and have all their shots and will be micro-chipped, Wild said. They are FELV/FIV negative and litterbox trained.
