Northport-East Northport 2021-22 School Budget Fails

The proposed budget was narrowly voted down by residents. Voters also elected two people to the board of education.

NORTHPORT, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Northport-East Northport School District on Tuesday voted down the 2021-22 school budget by a margin of 2,069 no votes to 1,902 yes votes.

The district's budget is $174,704,748, up 1.13 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $150,843,867, up 0.75 percent.

Incumbent Victoria Buscareno was re-elected with 2,126 votes. Carol Taylor was also elected with 2,079 votes.

Warner Frey received 1,356 votes, while Tammie Topel received 1,534 votes.
