Students in Northport Middle School will return to class as usual Tuesday after the building unexpectedly closed Monday, due to a water main break.
Parents received a call from school officials Monday evening, announcing that the break had been repaired and that both water and heat were working properly in the building.
A second water main break occured Monday at Ocean Avenue, which affected about 20 residents. The Suffolk County Water Authority said the pipe was repaired by 3 p.m. that day.
