Northport PD Blotter: Homeowners Asked To Stop Shooting Fireworks
ALSO: A black dog got loose in the neighborhood, but officers could not find it, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 28 through July 4.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A cat with an injured back leg was brought to North Shore Veterinarian Hospital by a police officer on June 28.
- An intoxicated male was brought from Northport Library to Huntington Hospital on June 28.
- A summons was issued to a commercial vehicle parked in Vail Street overnight on June 29.
- A car crash was reported at Municipal Lot #1 of Constitution Square, but no one was injured. A Toyota backing up struck the front passenger corner of a Honda, causing minor damage, police said.
- Northport Rescue transported a drunken woman from Napper Tandy's to Huntington Hospital on July 2.
- A Laurel Avenue homeowner was shooting off fireworks at 4:14 a.m. on July 3, police said. The homeowner agreed to stop and surrender the remaining fireworks to police. The fireworks were destroyed and disposed of.
- A woman's bathroom was flooding on Main Street on July 3. She told police that her sink detached from the wall and she was unable to stop the water from running. The fire department tried to shut off the water main from the street. Police shut off the water valve inside the attached restaurant. Both the homeowners and business owners responded to assess the water damage. The property owner said he would contact a plumber to fix the sink.
- Police attempted to settle an argument between someone and a tenant on July 3. The complainant told police that the tenant was storing his personal property on the outside of the house and in closets that he should not have access to. The complainant also said the rent is late and that she would start the eviction process. The tenant said he is in the process of removing his property from the residence.
- A black dog got loose on Hilton Avenue around 10:20 a.m. July 4. Police searched the area but could not find the dog.
- Police told a Laurel Street homeowner to stop shooting fireworks at 8:11 p.m. July 4 to stop shooting fireworks, to which the homeowner agreed.
