Northport PD Blotter: Pants W/ $3,200 Inside Turned In By Finder

ALSO: Two deers were found on the side of a road; one was already dead and the other was euthanized, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Dec. 28 through Jan. 3.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A pair of urine-soaked pants containing $3,204 and assorted cards were found on the side of Norwood Road on Dec. 28. A man turned in the pants to police headquarters. The pants' owner was notified.
  • A hole in the sidewalk on Scudder Avenue was reported on Dec. 28. Police placed a traffic cone in it to reduce the risk of someone stepping into it.
  • A case of unemployment fraud was reported to police on Dec. 31.
  • Someone told police that a man yelled at them on Jan. 1 as the person was watching a deer walk behind a property on Main Street. Police interviewed the man, who refused to give any of his information.
  • A woman said while she was running along Waterside Avenue, a man in a vehicle slowed down to yell out to her while she was running on Jan. 2. The man drove off. The woman wanted the report documented for informational purposes.
  • Two injured deer were reported on Norwood Avenue on Jan. 3. One deer was dead by the time police arrived, and the other deer was then euthanized. Northport Highway was notified to pick up the deer.
