NORTHPORT, NY — Four felines were named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's featured pets of the week, as they are some of the rescue's longest-tenured potential pets waiting for a home.

Bridget and Peaches, as well as Boba and Jango, are two pairs of bonded kittens who are looking for homes together in time for the holidays.

"Hoping for a Holiday Miracle because we have lots of babies getting ready for adoption, and these four are just gonna get lost in the system!," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, told Patch in an email.

Bridget and Peaches, 1-and-a-half year old cats who were rescued from life on the streets, are two of the rescue's longest residents. Neither were happy alone in the organization's habitats, so they were introduced to each other in foster care, where they absolutely thrived, according to Wild.

"They have helped each other so much, by bringing out the playful side and learning to trust and relax," she said. "They have become best friends and yet still love the company of people."

Bridget is considered a vocal, silly girl with big eyes and a funny face. Peaches is calm, loving, and will cuddle up with whoever adopts her. They are both currently back in the rescue's habitats and snuggle all day. They show clear signs of sadness they are still in a cage, Wild said. The rescue wants to see them adopted together.

Boba and Jango, two playful brothers who are 5-and-a-half months old, are spending their kittenhoods in a cage.

"We can not understand why they have not been adopted yet," Wild said. "When our volunteers visit them, their silly antics make everyone smile. Jango actually stole the keys out of the lock and was carrying them in his mouth and tried to hide them. It was as if he was planning on breaking him and his brother out when everyone left!"

Both love getting tummy rubs and snuggles from people. They get along great with other cats and children, too, Wild said.

"Waiting each day for volunteers to come play, or visitors to say 'hi' can be depressing for some, but these cats all show patience and grace and are grateful for every moment of attention they receive," Wild said. "They are never alone as they each have each other, but they now need a family and a home to snuggle up in and be safe forever."

All the kittens are spayed and neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
