Northport Pets Of The Week: Channa, Cheetie, Chookie & Chinnu
These calico siblings are ready for their forever homes. Here is how you can adopt two (or all) of them.

NORTHPORT, NY — Channa, Cheetie, Chookie, and Chinnu are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.
Channa, Chookie and Chinnu, who are female calicos, as well as their tuxedo brother, Cheetie, were born on March 30 to their mother, Shadow, who is barely an adult herself. Their date of birth is known, as the four were born in the safety of one of the rescue's foster mom's home, after Shadow was rescued by a man — just in time for her to give birth to the litter, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
Cheetie and Channa are a bonded brother and sister, Wild said. Cheetie is playful and spunky and loves to head bunt and be smooched all day long, according to Wild. He will nap by your feet while doing homework, because he loves to be around people. Channa, his sister, looks after Cheetie, and is teaching him to be confident and strong.

"She is adventurous and curious and will climb into the nearest lap to cuddle," Wild said. "She will come running to any human that approaches."
Their favorite game is to roll around in the clean laundry basket. They are being fostered with dogs and get along well with them.

"They need to stay together because they will look and cry for each other when not nearby," Wild said.
Chinnu and Chookie also love each other very much, Wild said.
"They are both very friendly, sweet, and playful kittens. They also come running the moment that you walk into a room, because as much as they love each other, they love the attention from their humans as well."
They are also being fostered with a dog and get along with him, too.
"These four kittens have been around people from day 1 and are exceptionally sweet babies," Wild said. "They will add joy to any family that they are a part of, and are willing to give them the attention they seek and love. Their mom, Shadow, has been adopted by the family of the gentleman that saved her. Now it’s her babies' turn to find their forever homes where they will be safe and loved for always; after all, we gave Shadow our word that we would make sure of it when she said goodbye to them."
Once they are ready for adoption, all four cats will be neutered or spayed, be microchipped and have all their shots. They are litter box trained and FELV/FIV negative.
