Northport Police Blotter: 3 Charged With DWI

ALSO: A woman accused of being drunk got into an argument with the ownership and management of a Northport restaurant, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Dec. 21 through Dec. 27.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Jeremy Zmoos, 23, of East Northport, was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked, running car at 8:13 p.m. Dec. 23, police said. An officer saw Zmoos holding an open 24-ounce can of Steel Reserve, which has an alcohol content of 8.1 percent, police said. Zmoos' breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were glassy and watery, and his speech was slow and slurred, police said. The officer also saw multiple empty cans of beer in the car, police said. Zmoos performed poorly on several field sobriety tests, police said. A breath test resulted in a 0.17 percent B.A.C., police said. Zmoos was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • Devin Lewis, 22, of Northport, was seen driving a 2010 Jeep when he drove out of his lane while eastbound on Fort Salonga Road at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 23, police said. When Lewis was stopped on Middleville Road, police said that Lewis' breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred, he was very unsteady on his feet and he performed poorly on several field sobriety tests. Lewis' breath test came back at 0.12 percent B.A.C., police said. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and fail to maintain lane.
  • Robin Seepish, 54, of Northport, was seen driving a 2003 Ford Explorer when she swerved in and out of her lane several times eastbound on Main Street at around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 23, police said. An officer tried to stop Seepish at Fort Salonga and Vernon Valley roads when she pulled over in front of Tracey Court, came to a full stop, then drove forward and pulled over into a driveway on Vernon Valley Road, police said. The officer who interviewed Seepish noted her breath smelled of alcohol, her eyes were glassy and bloodshot, her speech was slurred and she was very unsteady on her feet, police said. She performed poorly on several field sobriety tests, police said. Her breath test registered at 0.12 percent B.A.C., police said. Seepish was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and fail to maintain lane.

Incidents

  • A drunken man was given a ride home from Main Street by police at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22.
  • A dead deer was found on Eatons Neck Road on Dec. 22.
  • A woman suffered an ankle injury when she tripped over a gas cap submerged in the sidewalk on Main Street on Dec. 24. The woman was brought to Huntington Hospital, and a notification was made to the village clerk.
  • Northport police helped Suffolk police deal with a drunken man causing a stir at Metro Mart at 8 p.m. Dec. 26.
  • A man reported that a vehicle was following him on Dec. 27. Police interviewed the woman following him, who said she saw his car and wanted to speak with him about an ongoing incident. The two agreed to leave the area.
  • A woman got into an argument with employees of Bistro 44 on Dec. 27. The woman said she was denied service because of her service dog, and that the manager told her she was unable to bring a dog into the establishment. The owner refuted her comments, adding that the bartender was told by the manager not to serve her any more drinks because she was too drunk, police said. The woman left without further incident.
  • Northport police arrested a man who was wanted by the Suffolk County Police Department at noon Dec. 28. The man was turned over to Suffolk police.
  • Someone found a pair of pants with $3,204 and assorted cards in them on the side of Norwood Road on Dec. 28. The finder turned the pants into police headquarters. The pants were returned to their rightful owner.
  • A hole in the sidewalk on Scudder Avenue was reported on Dec. 28. A traffic cone was placed inside it by police.
