Northport Police Blotter: Fraudulent $9,900 Loan Reported
A man reported someone took out a small business disaster loan with his social security, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 19 through Oct. 25.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A man went to police headquarters on Oct. 19 to report that someone he didn't know took out a small business disaster loan worth $9,900 with his social security number. The man said he contacted the FBI and the small business disaster loan administration and filed a report with both agencies. The man was told to contact the police if he suffers a financial loss.
- An officer was called to Northport Library to ask a woman to leave after she refused multiple requests from library security for her to wear a mask. She left with no further issue. The incident happened Oct. 19.
- Robke's Northport was evacuated after a fire started, causing smoke, on Oct. 19. The Northport Fire Department doused the flames.
- A basketball hoop was reported to be in the street of Burt Avenue, partially blocking traffic. The homeowner was told that this has been an ongoing issue, and that if the hoop wasn't removed by the end of the day, a village code compliance officer would be notified. The incident happened Oct. 20.
- A dog was bit by a raccoon in a Goldenrod Avenue home's back yard on Oct. 20. The raccoon left the yard by the time police arrived.
- A group of kids were causing a disturbance at Woodbine Marina on Oct. 20. The group agreed to leave when officers arrived.
- A sick raccoon was reported on Hilton Avenue on Oct. 21. The raccoon was euthanized and disposed of by police.
- A group of kids was removing political signs in the Burr Avenue area on Oct. 21. Police searched but couldn't find the group.
- A noise complaint on Laurel Avenue was made after 3 a.m. Oct. 22. A woman said she had been woken up several times to banging and scraping sounds coming from her neighbor's apartment. Police told the man to stop doing construction work for the night, which he agreed to.
- A woman who was walking in front of cars on Main Street on Oct. 22 was issued a field appearance ticket. The cars had to stop and drive around her.
- A sick raccoon was reported on Burr Avenue on Oct. 22. The raccoon was put down and disposed of by police.
- A sick raccoon was reported on Highland Avenue on Oct. 22. The raccoon was put down and disposed of by police.
- A man set up a gelato and espresso stand on the sidewalk of Church Street on Oct. 23. He took it down after an officer told him he was violating Village code.
- A sick raccoon was reported on Judy Ann Court on Oct. 23. The raccoon, which was showing signs of distemper, was euthanized by police.
- A loud party with blasting music was being thrown on Main Street past 10:15 p.m. Oct. 23. The resident agreed to turn the music off when police were called.
- An intoxicated man was sleeping on a Seaview Avenue resident's front yard at 3:26 a.m. Oct. 24. An officer found the man and got him an Uber home.
- A sick raccoon was reported on Maple Avenue on Oct. 24. The animal was showing "clear signs of distemper" and was euthanized by police.
- Police responded to Church Street on Oct. 24 for a report of people knocking on a home's door. A woman told police that at 8:30 p.m. the previous day, a small group of kids knocked on her front door and ran off when she answered it. She said there were two prior incidents in October. She was told to call Northport Police if the kids knock on her door again.
- Someone was hitting golf balls on Ocean Avenue School Field on Oct. 24. An officer told the person that hitting golf balls could create a hazard and asked them to stop, to which they agreed.
