Whoops, wrong number 

A Northport woman accidentally dialed 911 Aug. 27 when she intended to make a call to a 912 area code. Police showed up at her house to investigate the 911 hang up, but alas, found no apparent fire, criminal act or other emergency.

A child fell out of a car onto the sidewalk along Main Street in Northport Aug. 27, police said. Northport Rescue responded and transported the young girl to Huntington Hospital.

A mother called Northport police Aug. 29 around 5:30 p.m. after her neighbor allegedly threatened to hurt her child because the boy accidentally cut down a tree limb between their yards.

Police responded to the home on Laurel Street. 

The woman said that her neighbor cursed and yelled profanity at her after the incident. The woman said her son and his friends cut the tree limb three days prior and that her neighbor said that he was going to cut her son. She also told police that a few weeks prior, her neighbor told her kids that he was going to shoot them with a BB-gun. 

Robbery on Fort Salonga Road 

Northport Police responded to a reported robbery at Fort Salonga Road Aug. 25 at 4:10 p.m., in which the alleged victim said a Hispanic male, with short black hair and tattoos on both arms, wearing black plaid shorts fled in a gold or rust-colored Nissan west on Fort Salonga Road.
