Northport Police Warn of Hurricane Hermine Impacts to Area
Expect possible coastal flooding and high winds, Northport Police say.

Tropical Storm Hermine has moved further east than originally forecasted, however Northport Police are advising residents to still expect coastal flooding and strong winds in the Northport area.
The storm is expected to hit Sunday evening until at least Wednesday as the storm is nearly stationary and is forecast to remain so for several days.
On its current track, no significant rain is expected from Hermine although these storms can unpredictably shift to cause the area to experience a greater impact.

High tides 2 – 4 feet above normal can be expected through the period. These amounts may increase by an additional 1 -2 feet as strong, persistent NE winds prevent the water from receding during the low tide phase.
If you live on the immediate shoreline or in an area prone to costal keep abreast of conditions.
