Northport Storm Coverage and Updates
- Long Island Snow Totals— Two towns topped the 2-foot mark, according to unofficial National Weather Service reports.
- If your street is not plowed properly, go to Councilman Mark A. Cuthbertson’s Facebook page and either post your street in the comments, send an inbox message to him, or report the issue via the Highway Department’s online portal here:
- Travel Ban to Be Lifted Sunday Morning, 30+ Inch Snow Totals Likely on Long Island— Two storm-related deaths have been reported. The Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway will remain closed overnight.
- Long Island Snowfall Totals (So Far)— Unofficial figures from the National Weather Service are out, but they are expected to climb considerably by the end of the day.
- The Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway will close Saturday afternoon. As of 2:30 p.m., all New York State roadways will be closed. The Long Island Rail Road will also stop running at 4:00 p.m.
- UPDATED: Asharoken Avenue, which the village police closed after it washed over at high tide, has reopened.
- State of Emergency Declared in Suffolk County— Suffolk Police already received calls for over seven accidents as of 8 a.m. Saturday, County Executive Steve Bellone said.
