Northport Village Election Postponed Due To Coronavirus

The election will now happen in late April.

NORTHPORT, NY — Election Day in Northport Village has been postponed due to the spread of the new coronavirus. The election will now be held April 28 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Northport Village Hall after originally being scheduled for Wednesday.

All Village elections in New York State were postponed in an effort to keep confirmed cases of COVID-19 down, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday.

The local election will see three candidates vie for two Northport Village trustee position: incumbent Deputy Mayor Jerry Maline, incumbent Trustee Mercy Smith and Dave Weber Jr. are in the mix.
