Obituary: ​Richard 'Ricky' Koch, 65, Ex-Captain Of Northport FD

Richard "Ricky" Koch, of Northport, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at age 65.

Dear brother of Edward Koch, Deborah Hickman, Katherine Higgins, Terry Koch, and Toni Aubuchon. Fond uncle of 12 and grand uncle of 19.

Koch served in the United States Navy from 1972 - 1974. Ricky was a member of the Northport Fire Department for 40 years. He served as a member of the Fire Police as Second Lieutenant for two separate terms, First Lieutenant and eventually served as Captain. In 2009, Koch was fire police squad firefighter of the year for his outstanding service to the fire department.

In Koch's memory, donations to the Northport Fire Department, 204 Main Street, Northport, NY 11768. A private cremation will follow visiting with burial of the ashes on Friday Dec. 1, 2017, in the family plot.
