Police Log: Man Spits In Delivery Man's Face, DWI Arrest

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

At 6:03 p.m., police responded to a Fort Salonga Road location for the report of a raccoon in an illegal trap. The officer released the raccoon. Police say the raccoon then appeared to be ill so the animal was euthanized and disposed of properly.

At 11:19 a.m., police received a report of an argument between a woman and her client in which the client became irate over the phone on Woodbine Avenue. The woman told police the man, when negotiating pricing on a contract, said "I know people" and went on to say who he knew. The woman is not in fear and believes the client is upset of the current contract, but wanted to report the incident to police for informational purpouses.

At 4:04 a.m., police responded to a Main Street location after an Uber driver reported a suicidal male fare.

At 11:08 a.m., police responded to a Franklin Street location after police say the homeowner spat in the face of a PC Richards employee who was making a delivery. The incident offered because the employee was not able to remove an old refrigerator from the homeowner's garage. Both parties declined to file charges, and the homeowner said he will make sure to "have his job" instead of getting the employee arrested. The employee left the scene without incident.

At 9:55 p.m., Jeff Silentwalker, 24, of Northport, was arrested for DWI, aggravated DWI, no/expired insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle on a highway on Laurel Avenue after he was pulled over for speeding, police say.
