School Board Vote tomorrow-do you believe NYS will take over?

Major deficients on Long Island and population causing the closure of Primary Level schools in districts-does that Call for NYS Take Over?

NYS LI Districts-put your thinking caps on for New and Better Ideas-implemented.
NYS LI Districts-put your thinking caps on for New and Better Ideas-implemented. (Maltese in Albany-2021-Social Distancing didn't prevent Maltese from heading to Albany..)

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer bailed out Long Island School Districts this Budgetary Season-because Long Island School Board Budgets could not handle the need base matters at large. NYS has technical oversight of every single Long Island School District-but aspects of that enforcement render when there are grave Matters of injustice. If mismanagement in Long Island School District Budgets are at fault of Human error or perhaps reduction of population; then NYS doesn't involve themselves within that matter per sei. It's presently up to the School Board Staff members to be diligent on their budget forecasts-but that needs changes-because the taxing aspects are so high on Long Island-that it's pushing younger families to rethink if they want to purchase homes here.

As several Long Island School Districts are experiencing massive changes prior to pandemic-such as infrastructures crumpling, student population downsizing; and now new Covid Pandemic Educational needs providing more internet based educational placement at home or within social distance learning-it's become clearer that NYS should introduce immediate Legislation to take over Oversight of Long Island School Districts. In the 12th Assembly District and within State Senate 2nd and 5th Districts-these Legislators have not secured need base funding to deal with present day matters. To suggest that our Homeowners can bare the full burden going forward is not the answer.

I'm calling NYS Legislative Members of the 2021 Class to immediately introduce "revolutionary and need based Regional oversight by NYS Board of Education to assist Long Island Boards with Budgetary Planning for the future', said Maryann Maltese. Taxpayers on Long Island simply can not afford it-but we often-say to ourselves-we will pick up the Slack. How much more slack can Long Island Taxpayers bare? New York State Intervention of Long Island School Districts-is required. U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is be thanked for securing the needed funding to fill the gap-but that is a Temporary measure.

I worked on the creation of Universal Pre-Kindergarten; which for over 25 years demonstrates the importance of the partnership between NYS and Local School Districts so that performance levels remain high and Children have the socialization-educational foundation needed to thrive in evolving based society. I'll be running for Statewide office 2022-and as a UFT Supporter-together a better solution will be implemented. I have a proven track record already in place as support staff-and that kind of Legislator that Long Island needs-desperately.

Tomorrow is important day to cast your vote on School Board Elections throughout Long Island-kindness goes a long way at polling stations; I'll see you out there.
