Student Of The Month Honored By Northport-East Northport Schools
Northport High School senior Larkyn Davies was recently honored for her accomplishments in the Family & Consumer Sciences department.

NORTHPORT, NY — Larkyn Davies, a senior at Northport High School, was honored as the Northport-East Northport School District's Student of the Month at the Thursday 2021 Board of Education meeting, according to a news release.
Larkyn was recognized for her achievements in the Family & Consumer Sciences department. She was also honored during the Northport Rotary Luncheon, which she attended with her family.
Larkyn aspires to be an elementary school teacher in the future and participated in Family & Consumer Sciences early education courses all four years of her high school career.

One of Larkyn’s teachers, Antonette DiGiacomo, described her as a "very strong student academically" and shared that she has the knowledge and ability to be an "excellent educator," according to the news release.
Larkyn’s flag line coach, Kaylie LaLota, called her "kind, responsible and reliable."

Larkyn said she is "so grateful" to have participated in the district's program. In addition to her experience in the Family & Consumer Sciences department, she has been actively involved with the SHARE program and is committed to supporting her peers through the 1LIFE youth coalition.
Drug & Alcohol Counselor Anthony Ferrandino called her a "confident leader amongst her peers" and described her willingness to support her fellow students in any capacity.
