Townhouse Project Greenlit For Northport Country Club
More than 70 condos are planned to be built for those 55 and older in a project worth at least $50 million, the developer told Patch.

NORTHPORT, NY — The preliminary site plan for a townhouse development at the Indian Hills Country Club in Northport was approved on Wednesday by the Huntington Planning Board.
A 74-luxury condo project, estimated to cost between $50 million and $60 million, would make housing available for people 55 and over to purchase, Jim Tsunis, founder of The Northwind Group, told Patch.
The developer hopes to start the work in September and estimated the project will take two to three years to complete.

"It’s going to be very exciting for me," Tsunis, 62, told Patch. "I’m a golfer. I’m looking forward to making large improvements to the golf course, including a new clubhouse. In addition to that, I’m also moving into one of the townhomes. So, the project becomes more exciting, because I’ll have a home for myself."
The project will come at no cost to taxpayers, Tsunis said. The development will also preserve 130 acres of 156 acres at the country club, he said.
