After Burglars Break Into His Home, Billy Joel Sends A Warning

"I've got dogs, guns, lights, everything in the house now. I'm hoping they try it again," legendary singer, Billy Joel, said.

CENTRE ISLAND, NY — After vandals broke into his Centre Island home last month, legendary singer Billy Joel has a warning to other would-be burglars: Try it again and see what happens. You may not be so lucky the next time around.

"I’ve got dogs, guns, lights, everything in the house now. I’m hoping they try it again. Come on, come on, bring it,” the 70-year-old said lightheartedly as a fan filmed the singer discussing the incident during his recent performance at Madison Square Gardens. "Yeah, the last time I was here, they hit my house."

According to police, someone broke into the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's home last month and damaged a garage door, 12 motorcycles and a home office. Joel was not home at the time.

"I guess everybody knows I'm not home," he told the audience. "Anyway, everybody's fine, everybody's good."

There have been no arrests in the case, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the break-in call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
