Graziose: Spring has truly arrived at Garvies Point! We have had substantial milestones over the last few months that benefit both Garvies Point residents and the Glen Cove community, including the completion of parks and more parking designed to celebrate our waterfront location and offer access to the amazing local businesses, including Garvies Point Brewery for a drink and Brendel’s Bagels for a snack. The Garvies Point Dog Park also opened within the past months and has served as a popular socially-distant meeting spot for neighbors within the dog-friendly community.
Patch: What else do The Beacon and Garvies Point have to offer for families?

Graziose: With Garvies Point opening more public parkland, waterfront access, and playground space this Spring, The Beacon has the perfect outdoor space for families and kids. Mercadante Beach has long been a prominent spot for kayaking and the Garvies Point preserve, with biking and hiking trails offers a beautiful setting for spending time with the family in nature.
At Garvies Point, family-centric events are always on the calendar. At The Beacon, we recently held an adoption event with North Shore Animal League America at the new public dog park, where many residents grew their families by adopting a new pet. All 12 dogs available for adoption found homes that day. At RXR Realty, we pride ourselves on making our communities friendly to everyone, including pets.

Patch: Are there any new restaurants in the area or coming to the area?
Graziose: We are very excited to be breaking ground on the expanded Garvies Point Brewery project, which is 7,700 square feet comprising a full-service restaurant and extensive outdoor seating along Glen Cove Creek. The Brewery initially opened in 2015 by two locals who had a real talent for micro-brewing. They were instantly successful when they opened their small space, consisting of one bar with a handful of rotating taps. We’re excited to support our community by partnering with this Long Island business and helping with their expansion.
Patch: As the weather gets warmer, what kind of features will be available to residents?
Graziose: The heated outdoor pool at The Beacon is opening on May 15, with socially-distant lounge chairs, and two outdoor kitchens equipped with Viking grills, refrigerators, and prep sink for summer BBQs. The Beacon continually programs community events as the weather gets warmer — it’s not unusual to see workout classes or yoga overlooking the water on the pool deck for residents taught by a local studio.

Patch: In the greater community, what kind of springtime events are in progress?
Graziose: The Farmers Market will return to one of the public parks on Saturday, June 5th with a new name — Deep Roots Farmers Market (formerly Sea Cliff’s Farmers Market).
Plus, all of the Garvies Point parks, open spaces, playground, and gazebo areas should be opened and fully operational by late Spring/Early Summer 2021.

Patch: How does Beacon stand out compared to other properties on Garvies Point
Graziose: As the only opportunity to own a condo in Garvies Point, residences at The Beacon are the definition of luxury, with sophisticated and calming design finishes. Our residents have created a very fun and welcoming community, and our staff are second to none, taking care of residents’ every need — and anticipating them, too! Residents at The Beacon have access to a waterfront lifestyle without any of the maintenance involved — with stunning views, including the best sunset views in the area. You’d think you would only be able to get amenities like this in a five-star hotel. The Beacon’s expansive and well-designed amenities are perfect for entertaining as well as focusing on health and fitness. We have an amazing outdoor pool overlooking the water, a screening room, library for flexible working from home situations, and much more. The state-of-the-art fitness center with water views makes you actually want to go to the gym!
