Oyster Bay Resident To Compete In 2017 Senior PGA Championship
PGA of America Club Professional Mark Brown will golf in the 2017 Senior PGA Championship on May 23-28.

PGA of America Club Professional Mark Brown of Oyster Bay, NY will fulfill a lifelong dream when he tees off in the 2017 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, May 23-28 at Trump National Golf Club, in Washington, D.C.
The tournament will be Brown’s first Senior PGA Championship appearance. As he prepares to compete alongside golf legends Tom Watson, John Daly, Bernhard Langer and others, Brown must make the necessary arrangements to ensure that his everyday responsibilities as PGA Head Professional at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club in Glen Head, NY are covered.
While competing on TOUR is the primary job of many professional golfers, Brown is a PGA club professional at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club. His job consists of teaching lessons, golf shop operations, managing member responsibilities, executing player development programs and other tasks.

Brown is one of 35 PGA club professionals from across the U.S. to qualify for the Senior PGA Championship. While this is the culmination of a dream, Brown is well aware that associates, colleagues and management will pick up his workload at the club, as he competes against the world’s top senior players.
