Coastal Flood Statement Issued for Oyster Bay
National Weather Service warns of possible flooding in the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood statement, in effect from 11 p.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday, for the North Shore in Nassau.
..LOCALIZED MINOR COASTAL FLOODING... * LOCATIONS...THE COASTLINES ALONG THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE LONG ISLAND SOUND. * TIDAL DEPARTURES...AROUND 1/2 TO 1 FT ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDES. * TIMING...AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON. * IMPACTS...LOCALIZED FLOODING OF THE MOST VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS AND/OR BASEMENTS.

- Tonight- Rain likely, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. East wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Monday- Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog. High near 57. Breezy, with an east wind 16 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Monday Night- Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3am, then a chance of showers. Patchy fog. Low around 52. Southeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Tuesday-Â A chance of showers before noon. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 67. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
