Dead Newborn Found Inside Plastic Bag On Long Island Beach

BAYVILLE, NY – A dead newborn was discovered inside a plastic bag at a Nassau County beach Saturday morning, police said.

A 38-year-old man was walking his dog at Ferry Beach in the vicinity of Sound Beach and Bayville avenues in Bayville at 4:50 p.m. when he found the baby, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Nassau Homicide Squad detectives are investigating. No arrests have been made.
