Downed Tree Delays LIRR
Heavy winds ahead of severe weather plays havoc with Oyster Bay line Monday.

A downed tree west of Locust Valley put the Long Island Rail Road's Oyster Bay line out of commission briefly Monday, the MTA said.Â
With severe weather headed toward Long Island, its effects were already being felt in the form of heavy gusts. The tree came down over the tracks sometime before noon.Â
It halted traffic in both directions and the LIRRÂ began bussing passengers between Oyster Bay and Glen Cove.
Service has since been restored as of 1:45 p.m. with residual delays, the MTA said.
