Learn how oysters serve as “ecosystem engineers” improving water quality, enhancing habitat and protecting shorelines from damaging storms.
Friends of the Bay is a partner of the Community Oyster Gardening Program, which is an outreach program of the intermunicipal Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor Protection Committee to educate and engage residents in protecting their local waters.
After hearing the presentation, we hope you will want to jump in to become an oyster gardener in 2021.
Rob has been coordinator of the Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor Protection Committee since 2012 and is the Waterfront Director and Development Associate at SUNY Maritime College. Rob previously served as Executive Director of Friends of the Bay and The WaterFront Center.
