All state, federal and local governmental offices are closed. There is no mail delivery.

Banks and the New York financial markets are closed.

The library is closed today. It reopens Friday at 9 a.m.

Schools are closed through Jan. 2.

Stores are open at their discretion.

The LIRR is operating on a holiday schedule.
