The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon and evening. A few of the stronger storms could produce large hail and damaging winds. Locally heavy rain will also be possible, resulting in mainly urban and poor drainage flooding.
Highs will rise well into the 80s away from the immediate coastline, with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms as we head into the afternoon. A few storms could be strong to severe. pic.twitter.com/YaMDSVWea6
