OYSTER BAY, NY — Overnight lane closures on the Long Island Expressway in the Town of Oyster Bay will continue until Friday, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
Three westbound lanes have been closed between exit 44 at State Route 135/Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway and exit 46 at Sunnyside Boulevard between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. since Tuesday. The westbound ramp from Sunnyside Boulevard has also been closed overnight.
Motorists can use the HOV lane, which has been open for through traffic, as well as the Northern State Parkway as an alternate route. The closures have been put into place to ensure safe work zones as crews carry out maintenance work on the bridge over Manetto Hill Road, officials said.
